There are numerous benefits to Swedish massage for all people and particularly athletes. Swedish massage helps to dilate the blood vessels, which improves circulation, which is necessary for flushing out toxins that exist throughout the body (lactic acid) that can cause problems such as swelling and muscle soreness.

Your therapist will use long, smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using a blend of massage lotions or oils. This massage can be very gentle and relaxing. If you never had a massage before, this is a good one to try first.
